Family activities in Las Vegas (based on your personality).

Looking for family fun in Las Vegas? You’re in luck! Las Vegas is more than a party-going, casino-hopping destination. It’s also a great hub for fun activities, restaurants, and shows for every kind of traveling family, so you can enjoy the neon lights together.

For those who like to make a splash.

You and your kids can ride a slide that passes through an aquarium filled with five species of sharks at the Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas. Or for a more tame experience, stop by Circus Circus’s splash zone and pool with three slides on top of a 50-foot tower.

For the showstoppers.

Horses, jousting, and King Arthur himself are awaiting your arrival at Excalibur’s Tournament of Kings. Your ticket gets you a show and dinner, with a large menu that caters to any and all food preferences and allergies. If they still have energy to burn, then make a pit stop at Excalibur’s Fun Dungeon arcade, where you’ll find 200+ games for kids (and adults) of every age.

For the sweethearts.

Have a sweet tooth in the family? You’ve come to the right place. Head to HERSHEY’S Chocolate World in New York-New York, where you can choose from 800+ HERSHEY’S chocolates and candies from around the world, star in a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup TV ad, and see a sculpture of the Statue of Liberty made out of almost 800 pounds of HERSHEY’S milk chocolate. When you’re ready for round two, pop over to the M&M's store at the Showcase Mall and customize your own M&M's in this 28,000-square-foot hub for candy enthusiasts.

For the nature lovers.

Head to Mandalay Bay to see 14 shark habitats at the Shark Reef Aquarium. There’s a 360-degree view of sharks and other fish, as well as a touch pool where you can play with manta rays, sharks, and other aquatic animals. Then, stop by the Botanical Cactus Garden at Ethel M Chocolates, the biggest botanical garden in Nevada with 300+ species of plants.

For the daredevils.

Find the Circus Circus big top and make your way to Adventuredome! An indoor amusement park with rides and attractions, including mini golf, rock climbing, roller skating, and more. If you have a superhero fan in the fam, or you’re one yourself, head to Treasure Island for Marvel’s Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. You’ll take a deep dive into the history and science of superheroes, including Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man, and become official members of the Avengers’ S.T.A.T.I.O.N. in no time.

Bonus: Free Attractions on The Strip

While all of these activities are sure to be fun for the whole family, there are plenty of free things to do in Las Vegas that will be just as memorable.

  • The Fountains of Bellagio is a world-famous Las Vegas landmark that erupts in a choreographed spectacle of water, music, and light every 15-30 minutes depending on the day.
  • The Mirage Volcano erupts to a thunderous show accompanied with music by the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart and Indian tabla percussionist Zakir Hussain.
  • The Silverton Casino Hotel is home to a 117,000-gallon aquarium full of tropical fish and mermaids — yes, mermaids.
  • The Arts District is home to a collection of individual artists, galleries, and shops that provide way more than just paintings and sculptures.
  • The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens is a year-round exhibit that features flowers and other plants, along with sounds, lights, and rotating holiday themes.
